Rev. Father Chima Ogueri has joined the Keke Drivers’ Welfare to pray to God to give Governor Chukwuma Soludo the grace and protection to accomplish all the good things he wants to do for the people of Anambra State.
The Cleric spoke Sunday at St. Lwanga Catholic Church, Okpoko in Ogbaru Local Government Area of the State during the thanksgiving by Keke Drivers’ Welfare under UCKEMORAN on behalf of Soludo for banning touting in Anambra State.
He commended the Keke drivers for their wisdom to thank God, praying that bad people who want him to fail in his laudable programmes for the citizens would not succeed.
“You have come to pray and thank God for the Governor to have security to accomplish all his promises. We pray that God will give him grace and protection so that bad people will fail in their plan against him,” said the cleric.
He also prayed for good things as well as God’s provision and protection for the members of Keke drivers in their endeavour.
In his speech, the chairman of the Keke Drivers’ Welfare, Chief Arunsi Igbaniuka, said they came to thank God because they had been fighting against touting before Soludo was elected.
The chairman said they came to thank God because he used Soludo as an instrument to usher in justice to the poor in the state.
He said Soludo is a typical leader the Bible refered to as when a righteous man is in power the people rejoice, “we are rejoicing now because a righteous leader has come and set us free,” he stressed.
Igbaniuka appealed to the Governor to approve the Keke Drivers to commence the work so that they would organise Keke drivers and flush out criminals among them.
In his speech, the Secretary of Keke Drivers Welfare, Chief Raphael Agu, (Commodore), said the greatest thing he has done for Anambra people was to ban touting.
He pledged the continued loyalty of Keke drivers to the Governor and the Commissioner of Transport designate.
